Barbooth, a dice game of Middle Eastern
orgin, in also called Barbotte or Barbudi. In the United States, Barbooth
is played primarily by people of Greek ancestry. The shooter throws
two dice. If a 3-3, 5-5, 6-6, or 6-5 is thrown, the shooter wins.
If a 1-1, 2-2, 4-4, or 1-2 is thrown, the shooter looses. Other combinations
do not count. A second player, known as the fader, sets a wager in
betting against the shooter and takes turns with him throwing the
dice. Other players may make side bets on whether the shooter or fader
will win.
